Summary

A delivery payout should be traced to the sales, fees, refunds and adjustments on its settlement statement.

Start with a settlement statement

Identify the platform, statement dates, payout reference and expected deposit date. Retain the original statement so the net receipt can be reconstructed.

Separate gross activity from the net receipt

In a fictional example, $1,000 of sales less $200 of fees and $50 of refunds produces a $750 receipt. The accountant confirms how each component is recorded; the bank deposit alone does not describe gross sales.

Match the receipt and explain timing

Compare the statement reference and payout date with bank activity. A deposit arriving in a later period may be a timing difference; an unexplained deduction requires investigation.

Carry exceptions into the close

List missing statements and unexplained amounts with the contact supplying the answer. Resolve them or identify the limitation before presenting the period’s accounts.
